[previous page] [next page] [table of contents][page overview]

A polynomial $ p$ with degree $ n$ can be written as

$\displaystyle p(x) = a_0 + a_1 x + \cdots + a_n x^n
$

with $ a_n\ne0$ .

The variable $ x$ and coefficients $ a_k$ can be real or complex. Correspondingly such a polynomial is called a real or complex polynomial.
