A function $ F$ with $ F^\prime=f$ is a antiderivative of $ f$ , one writes

$\displaystyle \int f(x)\,dx = F(x) + c
$

for the set of all antiderivatives, called indefinite integral of $ f$ . The integration constant $ c$ is arbitrary. For example

$\displaystyle F_a(x) = \int_a^x f(t)\,dt
$

is one possible antiderivative.
